Indoor Cycling Can Help Reduce Parkinson’s Symptoms

Indoor cycling classes have become a popular way for people with Parkinson’s to get moving. In fact, a class has been developed specifically for those with the disease. In Pedaling for Parkinson’s classes, participants ride for 1 hour, which includes a 10-minute warm-up, 40 minutes of pedaling at 80 to 90 rpm, followed by a 10-minute cooldown.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s classes are offered through various YMCAs throughout the US, with many more forming worldwide.

Watch the video above to see a class in action, and how pedaling for Parkinson’s is helping reduce PD symptoms and giving people hope.
