Post Mozart The Great Composer

Hi Everyone,

A married couple trying to live up to a snobbish life-style went to a party. The conversation turned to Mozart. "Absolutely brilliant, magnificent, a genius!"

The woman, wanting to join in the conversation, remarked casually, "Ah, Mozart. You're so right. I love his music. Only this morning I saw him getting on the No. 5 bus going to Coney Island." There was a sudden hush, and everyone looked at her. Her husband was mortified. He pulled her away and whispered, "We're leaving right now! Get your coat and let's get out of here."

As they drove home, he kept muttering to himself. Finally his wife turned to him. "You are angry about something."

"Oh really? You noticed?" he sneered. "I've never been so embarrassed in my life! You saw Mozart take the No. 5 bus to Coney Island? You idiot! Don't you know the No. 5 bus doesn't go to Coney Island?"

From, Margie

Margie, just been reading the jokes page and came across your Mozart story. Brilliant.
Seeing where you live reminds me of the oldest joke in the book.
"My wife is off on holiday to the West Indies"
"Jamaica?"
"No she went of her own accord" Boom Boom.

I was testing the children in my local Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to Heaven.

I asked them, 'If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church,
would that get me into Heaven ?'

'NO!' the children answered.

'If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the garden, and kept everything neat and tidy, would that get me into Heaven?'

Again, the answer was, 'NO!' By now I was starting to smile.

Hey, this was fun! 'Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave sweets to all the children,
and loved my wife would that get me into Heaven?' I asked them again.

Again, they all answered, 'NO!' I was just bursting with pride for them.

Well, I continued, 'then how can I get into Heaven?'

A six-year-old boy shouted out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE DEAD"

Hi Drew,

Glad you enjoyed the joke.

Thanks for sending me the "oldest joke in the book". I'd never heard it...and enjoyed it tremendously...especially living in Jamaica (Queens).

Keep smiling...and laughing too. Excellent medicine.

So long for now.

Margie
