Hi Heather Sue Juantinia
Well said I think I am so grateful for what I have got and can now do rather than striving for the hard to reach things I think it is called acceptance and gratitude for the things that really matter.Whatever it is long may it continue Mary |

Hi Suzie
I don't no if we do accept it completely , and that may not be a bad thing, and this is my opinion , Jim and I have learned to appreciate life , and have been given the knowledge to learn to live with illness, and not let it take over our lives ![]()

Hi.
As I've said elsewhere, a positive attitude is key. I know a guy who was first diagnosed with PD when he was 8! He's now 41, still working, and still travelling the world. But attitude and positivity are not just "facilities" you can switch on and off. If you're having a particularly bad day PD-wise you can't just say to yourself "Ok, I think I'll be positive now...". It's very difficult to make yourself change moods. You have to put a lot of effort into forcing yourself to focus on things which will make you smile (your grandchildren, perhaps, or some past family moment), and not allow negative thoughts to enter your conscious mind, under any circumstances. Practice makes perfect, though, and it's worth the effort! |
