Parkinson's does not have to be a "life sentence". Recovery is not easy and there is no "cure". I took over 3 years to move from stage IV to a state of absolutely no symptoms and no medication. Others have taken from 2.5 to 6 years, but have done it.
To get well, we have to change everything that may be inhibiting health; our thoughts, beliefs, activities, food, supplements, drugs, anything that needs to be changed. Near enough is not good enough.
The reward is that, if we change everything that needs changing, our health improves.

:(HI Mona
Depression was a problem for me even before I knew I had PD. Infact It was almost a relief for me when diagnosed because at last I had an explanation for my depression, for me the depression was and still is a symptom
of the PD. I take Fluexotine, and have been for many years because it seems to work well for me. I still have boughts but I can cope better with them now.
I have just recently started seeing a clinical phsycologist, which has really helped too. I also find keeping physically active helps too.
The fact that you are struggling with your symptoms will make you anxious and depressed too, so if you can take medication (like Sinnimet) to help then it will probably make you feel much better emotionally too. Its all a big balancing act Mona. I do not like having to depend on medication but sometimes we have to way up the odds and just go for it. There is no point in struggling on and on making life harder than it could be it's hard enough.
Good luck

Hi Mona i agree with Janice .To have any quality of life we need to take the prescribed medication .Without it i could not fiunction. At one stage i was taking Mucuna Pruriens i took this and no other medication for about 10 months and it worked really well until just a few months ago,so now i am back on the reg meds,I would have preferrd to stay on the herbal but when your body is not working anything is a relief .As far as depression goes i have been taking anti-depressants for about 6 years now.ocasssionally i think i will go off them but i can guarantee each time i try i end up with feeling like i am not coping and go back on them .Anything to make life easier .i am a very positive person most of the time but i still need a little help to boost my serotonin levels .i keep busy and enjoy life. i may have parkinson disease but i try not to let it take over my life .hope u can sort out your medication soon.
