My wife and I are preparing to migrate to Scotland to look after my mother who is approaching ninety but dementia is taking hold of her. We will be without the use of a computer for some time so goodbye and good luck to you all for the future.
Just a thought before I go. Lots of people post threads topics etc. on this site but the response generally is poor. Responses are what keep this site alive and interesting.
'nough said.

It is GREAT to see several people back on the forum today. It has been so very, very quiet for some time. We need to have several on so when someone comes on needing reasurance or even just understanding from someone in the same kinds of situation that there will be someone for them. It is so good to see you back again.

Good luck, Drew. I have really enjoyed your jokes, your pictures, your great attitude. I hope you will be back on soon.

Heather the Prill, we have certainly missed you. I have not been on much, either, but I guess that is part of the problem with this disease. Other stuff intervenes.

I have heard from Heather about a month ago. She sends her love to all her forum friends, and does not know when she will be able to pop in again. She has been very busy caring for Jim. As of early September, doctors wanted him in hospital, but he was refusing to go.

Geraldine has had a terrible time, too. Her dad went into hospital in July, and has not recovered. She told me a few days ago that he has been moved from intensive care back to the ward to die. Said she had been told it wouldn't be very long. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Things are better for my husband, since he went on Seroquel for the hallucinations and delusions. He doesn't like the medicine because it makes him feel groggy, but it has really helped.

I will visit some other threads and try to catch up on all of you. I haven't been able to participate much, but it is a joy to read about everything you all have been up to.

Heather (Tryphena) will you remember me by that name?
As you say, there are many dramatic ups and downs with Mr Parky, still we keep bouncing back.
So sorry to read about all your problems, Heather with Jim, I always say being a carer is sometimes worse than having the wretched thing.
Been having trouble with my Parky 'experts' they all seem to be leaving the area. had a letter from the Shrewsbury & Telford Trust there would be no cover for PDS for at least 3 months, our one and only neurologist had left, plus the PDS Nurses and they could not find replacements! and as I have been having more and more problems with aches and pains, and lack of mobility which I don't think we can put down to Parky completely, I am being given 'tests' for a great number of other ailments, well it gives me something to do. i have been very impressed with my own personal GP, he rang me at 7 this evening to discuss the situation for which I was most grateful, restores my faith in the medical profession.
Do hope your troubles get sorted also, don't like to hear of all this sadness.
Keep your spirits up. Love to you all. Tryphena

Tryphena,

I knew you wouldn't change your name then desert us. You have really been missed. How was your vacation? I thought about you at that fancy hotel. I hope you are doing well.

Tryphena here (Heather just for a few threads). Thanks for your reply.
Had a great time at The Trefeddian Aberdovey. Summer seems to have lasted in Wales from 24 to 28 Sept wen we were on holiday, had a wonderful time, joined by two friends, met up with more like minded people and didn't stop laughing, sitting in the sun and sipping appropriate drinks for time of day!, the sun is always 'over the yard arm' somewhere in the world so we went by that clock!! Pimms, champagne, wine etc. although as most medicaton says 'no alcohol' I try to be abstemious (bet thats spelt wrong)
Off too Chester shortly to see the two grandsons, collect them from School, off to the Park if it isn't raining then home for tea to await Mummy and daddy, then we come back to our little cottage. Mind you maybe little is not the right word, our son visited the other day and went to the loo, on his return he said 'anyone would think you lived in a mansion, I had to go through 5 doors! Front room to hall, hall to dining room, dining room into kitchen, kitchen into utility room and utility room into loo." It really is a 4 bed converted cottage, and we love it.
Must away, nice to be back. Keep smiling
Tryphena

Well Guy's A Superb Couple are off to pastures greener.

I know why the forum has been quiet !!!!!!!! Due to circumstances beyond our control a few have ran out of batteries or given them to Drew and Elaine to put in there motorised scooter !
I did suggest they take their car instead , fly or use their flying carpet but Elaine loves sitting on the handle bar's watching the scenery.

On 2nd Nov I will be hostess to Drew and Elaine having the total pleasure of meeting up with them again. Any messages , insults, jokes or money reminders can be passed on to them. Please advise me in advance if handcuffs are to be required and i will try to find the key to release them off the headboard!!!!!!!!!!!! see you soon

Hi Suzie ,

It will be the 2nd time of meeting in person but we spoke nearly evey day via web cam. He is so lovely as is the woman behind the man "Elaine" his wife. She has such an infectious laugh I laugh at the thought of her laughing. They will be staying at a friends B & B in my home town for 1 night to break their journey up, since I live 90 miles away from the boarders of Scotland, it's only a hop skip and jump or a bad shaking day to get to their next destination.
Suzie I think and do believe we will all meet up at some point and you will always be made welcome in my heart and home.
(as long as you carry your own cup of tea in order to get a full cup !)
