Hi ltd_addition, (and everyone on the Forum included)
I watched the video that you highlighted on one of your posts that showed an interview with Dr. William J. Weiner, the Chief of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. It was very interesting, informative and on the positive side (I thought).
My hope is that I can get my husband, who has PD, to watch it. It might help him understand some things about the PD that he is afflicted with and some positive steps he can get involved in doing.
He won't exercise, use the tools that doctors have suggested, etc. It's hard for me to sit by when I know there are things that would/could help him. He tells me he has his own way of coping. Yes, he does but that is inwardly. I keep hoping he will do something to help him cope outwardly. His legs have all but completely gone out on him. He is supposed to use a walker but will not use it outside. Our son and I are his 'crutches'. He won't even use a cane. I'm getting so disheartened certain days and afraid. Other than PD he has other ailments that have come about. He's taking medication for depression and it is helping greatly up until the present moment, which I am so grateful for.
Maybe, just maybe if he watches the video www.http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?...nterview&hl=en that you gave us, it will encourage him to do some exercise. He had been advised to go to physical theraphy but would not go.
Oh, I just better quit 'talking' right now...and hope he watches the video and gets as much, if not more, out of it than I did.
Thanks everyone, for 'listening' to me. I so needed to talk with you. I don't know what to do anymore. Praying helps and getting out in the beautiful autumn weather that we are having here in New York, when I can. Plus my painting, sketching and music are great aides for me, when time permits. Mind you, I'm not complaining. I'm venting just to let off some stress.
I'm so grateful to all of you and for this Forum. I'd be quite lost without it.
May all of you have a really special good day today and many, many more to follow.
Margie :)
