Hello guys I'm just giving you a quick update.
I'm still fighting my employer to remain at work hence I've not been on the forum
I'm hopefully winning but can't say too much at the moment due to legal reasons

I'm worn out but can't allow myself to give up yet after 6 yrs of "trying to stop discrimination of Disabled workers"
I'm principled and detest unfairness, so I'm trying to make a difference "yes for me" But ultimately for the "Others" who become disabled through no fault, or accident etc. who will follow
I'm in need of your prayer's or a thought to give me strength
I will Thank you All in advance for just reading this as I have no doubt that I will feel your energetic thoughts giving me positive thoughts.
May your GOD Bless you All

Hi Ltd,
Well you know I am always here for you. Fingers crossed for 4 days time.
If anyone knows of anyone in employment who is being discriminated against tell them to check out the DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION ACT. This will outline your rights as an employee and also what an employer has to do for you to enable you to retain your job.
All credit to Ltd for the way she has fought to retain her job and her dignity. The problem is that because she has a constant fight with her employers it makes her PD worse because of the stress that the various issues that arise.
At this time she needs the backing of all of us so please tell her. I have.
It may help anyone in the same position in the future because a successful conclusion can be used as an example.
Have as good a day as you can especially Ltd.

Hello every one,
For those of you who are unaware of what has been happening, I have been trying to keep my job for the last 6yr since being diagnosed with young onset Parker's.

I have been subjected to treatment which I cannot bring myself to write, but needless to say I have been discriminated against the disability act .

I am not a leader, nor a fool but I am principled and will not tolerate ill treatment of anything, so how did I allow this treatment to continue , did I not tell people in authority ? Yes I did but what did they do ? Nothing yes nothing.

Well 6 yrs on it took my union solicitor to tell of my treatment and a shock statement from my employer's solicitor to tell everyone I should be given an apology & my treatment to be a lesson on how not to treat a person. (Yes they wanted to save money )

I'm cautious really until it's in writing but I need to shout out

"""I'VE WON, IV'E WON, I'VE WON"""
I am being recommend to be retained not retired out

I'm getting an apology from my Employer.

I've got all of my reasonable adjustments and I'm working exceptionally well.

It was not an employment tribunral but it was going to be if the unfair treatment continued.

My sin was to be diagnosed
To require a job to accommodate my restrictions
and being slower than other workers.

Yes It was about me ! But also for the next person who walked in my footsteps to receive better treatment, whether through illness or accident.

To those who where instrumental in my treatment, I hope your pain stops soon seeing the goodness of heart you may have once had.
To those who's goodness of heart stood up for me, sleep well & may your God keep you safe.

Congrats LTD-addition,
It is good when you are able to win at something like this. I was rather forced into a medical retirement from my workplace, it was either that or be laid off. My work had known about my PD from the near beginning (2 years) as my fingers don't bend and I type with one or two of them slowly so they bought me Dragon Speak. When layoffs came around, I was one of 25 people, mostly they picked older people--but they had several my age and younger too-I'm 47. I bluntly asked if I was picked for my PD, of course they said 'no'. They didn't tell about how I would qualify for a medial retirement to access my pension before retirement age as well as disability, someone at my workplace called me at home to tell me about it. I went that route as I did not have hard evidence of being discriminated against--but I applaud you and your triumph!

Hi Ltd_addition,

CONGRATULATIONS! All your perseverance, bravery, goodness, thinking of others who will have difficulties with their employers such as you had, but most of all BEING YOU, plus so much more...earned you this win.

I hope you get everything in writing that you need when you report to work on Monday.

You definitely deserve the aplogy from your employer, plus so much more. I hope they realize what a terrific worker you have been and are and how devoted you are. They should be thankful to have you working for them. One day it will be realized...maybe when you are retired and selling jewelry and/or creating your beautiful floral arrangements. When you are no longer in their employ...I garuantee, YOU WILL BE MISSED in your workplace. It is a shame the employer doesn't realize what they have in you NOW.

YOU'VE WON! YOU'VE WON! YOU'VE WON! AND WE ARE ALL SO HAPPY FOR YOU.

Keep on dancing, head held high, red tutu, red high heels and a glass of Shiraz (definitely) to celebrate.

Love,
Margie :)

Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself. This is great news for you and the example you have set for your son is invaluable. I have been very fortunate in my job. They encourage me to continue working and do what they can to keep me there as long as they can. I didn't really realize how fortunate I was until I read your about your experiences. I hope everything works out for you.
