I was diagnosed May 2007. I was immediately put on sinemet and when I got to the prescribed dose found myself groggy for 2 hrs after each dose. Since my husband has CP, I do all the driving. We cut the dose in half and I could again drive but my balance worsened. Dr. wants me to take Azilect but the dietary warnings scare me.

How has Azilect worked for any of you?

My husband was diagnosed with PD 2 years ago. He was 51 at the time. He is on Azilect and it has worked wonderfully for him. He still has the tremors but he moves much faster and drives much better. Also he doesn't have that lost facial look. He is still able to work but he complains about his body hurting all the time. He is in alot of pain. I thinking the pain will take him out of work before the other symptoms do. I believe the pain is part of PD.

Have you experienced any nausea with Azilect?

Azilect 1MG once per day has beem a revelation for me. My tremors were coming on before my next medication was due. Since taking Azilect no problems whatever. Beware it does not work for everybody but it does for me. NO side effects :)

hi I'm new to this type of forum. I was diagnosed in Oct 2006 and put on Sinimet it didn't work for me so they switched me to Azilect and it has been great-1 mg every morning no side effects. My Dr. didn't limit my diet said to keep everything in moderation and enjoy never had an issue. They added Mirapax and in doses up to .5 mg ok I was told a maximum dose of 1 mg 3 times a day would be most effective but higher dose caused fatigue and increased shaking. Now on requip supposedly not as potent and still cannot go above minimum dose of 1 mg 3 times a day. Does anyone else find lower doseages work better.
