Thank you all for your birthday wishes! It was my 60th and many people made a big deal out of it. I was feted at breakfast, lunch and dinner. :)

I have been away from the forum for a few weeks. We had the trip to Ireland, which is a truly beautiful place. The trip was very difficult, mostly because my husband had a mental breakdown about 3 days into the trip. We were able to stay with the group and complete the trip, but I was anxious to get back to home and his doctor. He is now taking seroquel, an anti-psychotic medication. Has anyone had any experience with it? He has slept really well since starting the med, only getting up once each night to go to the bathroom. I have read a lot about this med and its use for Parkinsons mental disorders such as hallucinations and delusions. I am very hopeful.

It is nice to be back, and I really appreciate all the birthday wishes. I missed "seeing" all of you.

We traveled around Ireland a lot. We flew into Dublin and spent two days there, then went by tourbus to Donegal where we spent two days with a side trip to the cliffs. Then down the west of Ireland, stopping for two days in Galway (and by plane to Aran Islands), 2 days in Killarney (Bunratty Castle and Muckross House), then to Limerick and flew out of Shannon.

It was a beautiful trip, but it proved too much for my husband. Very stressful, checking into and out of hotels all the time, and riding on the bus so much.

Thanks for asking, Susan. We have always wanted to visit Ireland.

Hi, Sue. I am so glad Seroquel has worked for you. My husband and I have each had 5 consecutive nights of good sleep. I feel like we can face anything, if only we can get a good night's sleep. It seems that his mental acuity is better, too. He is not having hallucinations, since the first day on Seroquel!
