Hi Everyone,

Amid all the things that you want to do, have to be done and go left undone because you just can't anymore...does anyone ever have a strong craving for chocolate? I do...and when I give in to the temptation to have some...I enjoy it tremendously but always feel guilty because of some medications I'm on (Actigal for gallbladder) and it says not to have a large amounts of chocolate.

But chocolate is sometimes the only thing that gets me out of the dolddrums so to speak. I never eat that much but the little I do consume makes me feel better.

Thanks for listening to my confession. Tony, who has PD, likes his chocolate too. He likes Snickers!

Margie :)

Margie :) Margie, I enduldge in chocolate as often as possible and especially like it with a glass of wine, which I shouldn't have either. If we can't enjoy lifes little pleasures, what's the point? Gail

Hi Guy's

Just a quick note before I'm off to work

Gail wine is good for Parker's especially red, one of its ingredients helps the cells (~dance in a red tutu with high heels & a purple hat )
ha ha sorry I make my self laugh I often can't see to type !
I'm serious though even though I don't sound convincing !!
So is chocolate as it has a similar effect ! (God is good )

Gail, You uplifted my spirits. I was feeling so down and guilty. I do that to myself at times. Since I enjoy a glass of wine at times and chocolate too...I'll have to try them together. I never have. Thanks for the 'tip'. Margie :)

My favorite part of winetasting is when you are given chocolate and port. That is something you should try. I am surrounded by wineries in CA and feel it is my duty to visit them all until I determine which one has the best wine. It is a dirty job, but someone has to do it.

I'm sitting here giggling like a school girl...and it's not from wine.

I will definitely try a glass of port and chocolate. Sounds yummy!

Carry on with that duty of yours...to visit all the wineries in CA until you determine which one has the best wine...and then let us know :D:D:D. You're right..."It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it"...go girl!

How about we add some http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn88/Bronx628Margie/music.gif music for our party? OK with everyone?

Hi All,
I would love to come to your party but I am trying to lose some weight. If you have another party next week I could come to that one. I will have to spend all week saving points so that I can have some of that wine and chocolate. How about I bring a nice strawberry pavlova?
God bless

Hi Geraldine, Don't worry about the calories...I've had them all removed...but all the taste and flavor of everything is still the same--delicious. It's wonderful what an imagination can do. So come on over...tonight if you can.

I must admit I don't know what a strawberry pavlova is but it sounds yummy. Definitely bring one to the party...it will be enjoyed by us all.

Susan I am feeling much better today. I'm wearing a mini back brace and it helps greatly. Am going to the chiropractor tomorrow and after adjustment I'm sure I'll be on my way to all better.

Also, Pauline has given me an easy back exercise that I'm doing and it is helping. Stomach and nerves have finally settled down. Maybe it's because Tony is feeling better. That makes such a tremendous difference.

Also, this Party that I have planned for tonight kept me smiling, laughing and enjoying. Finding out the delicious goodies that all of you enjoy made me feel like part of the group...and that is a wonderful feeling...to belong!

Thanks so much for your kind words and concern. They meant the most of all.

Heather, I know! And you came up with the perfect excuse...the time difference will take the blame.

After the party slows down a bit we could go to Manhattan and visit Radio City Music Hall http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn88/Bronx628Margie/music_hall.jpgwatch the movie playing there and then enjoy the Rockettes (the excellent dancers that perform there). Then we could take a walk and find the perfect restaurant to dine. How does that sound to you?

It was fun doing all the stuff with the chocolate, wine, JD, GT, etc. and then to imagine that all of you could come visit in the hot air balloon.

Have a really good weekend dear friend. Thanks for partaking in my 'party'. As Heater says...it could go on for days...and then we will go to Manhattan to see the sights.

She is absolutely right...and then we are going to Manhattan to see Radio City Music Hall, see the movie they are playing and the Rockettes (Dancers). After that we will look for an excellent restaurant and have dinner...and then if we are still up to it...tour the City.

Heather(Prill) arriving late at the party, what have I missed? I see Heather senior has roped me in for the Welsh tour, sounds good to me. We have Powis Castle just down the road, and there is one in Shrewsbury, well it is just down the road, even if it is in Shropshire, and one that 'Cromwell knocked about a bit' at Whittington, well someone knocked it about! Anyway if I had known what was going on I would have toasted you after my (even if I do say it myself) rather successful Coffee Morning last Tuesday, was rather nervous but it went very well and we raised money which was the object of the exercise. Parkinsons will benefit. Had my X-Ray on Thursday morning, following my landing rather heavily on my tail, I totter backwards quite a lot lately and this time I did not manage to keep standing. It is EXTREMELY painful especially when I sit. oh well I guess I should be pleased that at least it will get better.....
Had a good day Friday with the grandsons, even if my movements were limited, the kiddies were very good, helped al they could.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend, mine has been quieter than usual due to my 'injury', will have to make up for it. Just booked for a stay at The Trefeddian, Aberdovey in September, we try to go there at least a 3 times a year, it is only an hours drive away, The Hotel. is great, we always have a room with balcony on the 4th floor, it overlooks the sea, it is huge!!! They take you on a virtual tour if you log on to www.trefwales.com. It caters well for the disabled even if it does sit on a hill, and no I do not have shares!

Will go as I want to type a few more emails before the Grand Prix comes on.
Bye for now. H(the Prill)

I'm wearing my sparkly red tutu too with 3 inch stappy red sandles. I'll take my purple hat off so it doesn't spoil my hair ! I'm here to shake my carcass ( swing my hips )
Ah Abba playing yeah !! I'm dancing round my handbag now

Hi Margie

so glad it's nothing serious;)

I love this thread, champers and chocolate, what else is there?
Whoever thought of this is brilliant,I feel so cheerful ater reading all those letters. How did you know I have a glass of wine with a Snickers every evening at 9. My main pleasure however is a 'Weight Watchers Chocolate Bar' frozen. If you do decide to try it, mind your teeth, very hard but it lasts longer. now now. Sunday 4 pm sounds just right for a party.

H(the Prill) It won't let me send this letter!!!

Hi Heather P
so glad you could join us, but as you no the Welsh have always been quicker to party's than the English ;);) :D
glad you had a good weekend, bossy Heather, thought she would rope you in just in case you felt to shy :D
Thanks for the link, it' looks good, and very relaxing
Take care and rest your wounds

What a fast response. I was just going to close down to organise food for my other half and flicked through out of curiosity.
Lovely day except for the wind, it is blowing my hanging baskets so much I think they might fly away.
I will never pass your neck of the woods again without shouting hello to you, Mike nearly jumped out of his skin on Friday evening, we had been sitting quietly listening to the radio when I suddenly shouted very loudly. Poor man, good job he is used to me.
Having a good day to-day, except for my posterior but the rubber ring is great. thanks for good wishes. Time will heal it I guess.

I remember when I was about 10, yes I can remember that far back, I said 'when I grow up and can choose I am going to eat a whole gooey chocolate cake to myself,', I meant a family size one. Hi, this is Aunti Margie, So glad to hear from you. I ponder the same thing...why is it that it is always the things we enjoy soooooooooooooooooooooooo much they say are bad for us? Chocolate makes me feel better than some medications...figure that?

Maybe in the future the 'powers that be' will realize that if in moderation...things that they say are bad for us could be taken and give us their blessing ,

Hope you have a really good day.

Hi Marge, Heather and all fellow Chocoholics.
Up very early this morning having retired to bed at 8.30, my husband thought I was ill, never go until midnight! Well old enough to please myself.
thanks for good wishes, yes sure the bruising will heal but it is making life difficult at the moment, living on painkillers, which I hate. Off swimming, well playing in the water thi afternoon, hope the warmth will help.
Must learn this picture sending technique, how do I get lessons please?

Thanks, I have been very blessed and wouldn't trade any of them. One of my sons lives in Colorado so I don't see him as much as I would like too. Hoprfully he will return to California someday. I like them all close to home.

Morning everyone from Heather(P). Have passed through a couple of times but have not left a sign! I feel as if I am missing something so have run off the detailed instructions how to send a piccie, see if I can see you if not send one of my own, well, old dogs and new tricks, they say they don't match/mix.
Visited the local branch of Parkies yesterday, had a great afternoon, good bunch, except for getting drowned going and leaving, it didn't stop to rain!! No, we don't talk about PD all the time, have a good natter, but also learn a great deal. If
I was younger and more able I would have loved going on the Board of Trustees, if they would have me of course. Still, can attend the meetings and get involved locally.
Hope to see you (literally) soon. Heather(Prill)

Don't give up on the pictures. It is worth all the frustration once you get them posted. I had to keep going back and read the instructions over and over, but finally did it, not necessarily correctly, but I did it. Two days later and I am still patting myself on the back.

Hi Heather, It is party where everyone brings gifts for the new baby. It is called a shower because you are "showering the mother-to - be with gifts. My first try at making Sangria and it was delicious. Unfortunately, the guests were all driving so they could only have a little. I had to finished it off so it wouldn't go to waste. We had the best chocolate cake I think have ever tasted.

The Baby Shower you gave for your daughter must have been wonderful. I love Baby Showers. It is such a happy event to celebrate the coming of a little one into one's life.

Now Gail, you managed not only to make delicious Sangria (your first try) but a chocolate cake that was the best you think you have ever tasted. That's pretty special - both at one party. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn88/Bronx628Margie/german-chocolate-cake-1.jpg The missing piece of cake was eaten by Margie :) and it tasted so good with the delicious Sangria you made http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn88/Bronx628Margie/P2070001-1.jpg

Just thinking about the yummies you served made me full. I just know it was a lovely party that everyone enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.

PS Let us know when the baby is born and maybe you could show us some pictures. That would be lovely.

Drew, you can never have enough chocolate. I thought everyone knew that.

Which reminds me.
Went on a coach trip to Amsterdam organised by my local pub and on our journey back pulled into Bruges which is in Belguim (in between Holland and France to save you checking the map) and what is Belguim famous for?

Why lace of course! And...................... CHOCOLATE!!!

Every other shop in the main street leading to the town square was a chocolate shop. The males in our party were totally bemused to see the scrum by the females in our party jossling each other to get into these shops. It was sooooo embarassing. Us guys just left them and took refuge in a bar - well we had to didn't we!?!? Totally bemussed we some time later staggered back onto the coach muttering darkly about never going to Bruges again.

Travelouge note. Bruges (apart from aforementioned shops) is a very pretty town with cobbled streets, horse drawn carriages and wonderful buildings with loads of flags flying. Highly recommended.

If it's okay with ltd_addition...I'm all for it. How about it ltd_addition...are you up for a group of us to come visit for a party? If you are, name the time, date and particulars. Heather and I are your first guests/volunteers...

I also bought a pair of shoes to match my dancing dress http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn88/Bronx628Margie/4thofJulyDresses-carson2.jpg...all I need is a new hairdo!

As for Drew's figure...maybe ltd_addition can take the calories out of some of Drew's favorites :D...that way he can come and bring Elaine.

Hi, Heather Sen. Heather(Mk 2)(P) here. Just had to log-in again, my PC kept telling me I could not do this, and could not do that etc.! It heard me knocking but wouldn't let me in... 'why is everybody always pickin on me!?' joke, no I am not paranoid. Just wanted to say to you, love all the clever pictures appearing everywhere. I will have a go when I have a few minutes.
Love your thoughts on the Trustee subject, seriously I would have given it a go but I did not have time, closing date was 4 days after I first heard about the election, I just did not have time to get my papers in. Next chance willl be 4 years, oh well. So you will have too find another VIP!! Anyway it is bad for your karma to boast, you are too nice a person. I should have joined the PDS Group months ago as I intended, they say 'never put off until tomorrow etc.' I don't think I am losing my marbles, I try to follow the 'use it or lose it' brigade, but they say it creeps up on you when you are not looking! I was chatting on the 'phone just 5 minutes ago saying I feel 40, when I can nearly double that, and when passing shop windows I wonder who the 'old biddy' is who appears to be following me around and is looking back at me.
Was late coming past Wrexham on Friday 4 July, stayed for a meal with my son. I shouted more quietly in case you were in bed!! it was 2300 hrs.
Be in touch, best wishes, snickers and red wine at 2100 hrs. Yuck, but goes down well.....

Hi Heather (P),

OK...I love to blow out the candles if I get to make a wish? Yes, for children I can make an effort too..no matter how I am feeling. I 'love' bowling too. Haven't though in years. But I have a game called Wii where I can bowl to my hearts content (on the television screen) and not lift a heavy ball...just play the tv game and have lots of fun.

So, my eclairs are tempting you...they are delicious...will have to bring some to our party.

It was nice hearing from you. I hope your Tuesday is a very special good day for you. Glad to hear that there were no broken bones when they read the x-rays. Take care of that 'bunn' with tlc (tender loving care) and feel better soon.

Thank you for replying, choc eclairs and meringues are my favourite. I love: meringue/nuts/choc sauce/cream/ice cream as a special treat. We were once at a very very smart hotel with about 8 other friends. and I asked for this combination and was told it was not possible to provide it. I was feeling a little stroppy and said, as UK people will remember I'm sure, the lines from a TV show. Cann't remember name of show, A Union Leader stands up and shouts"OK EVERYBODY OUT!!!!!", and we did what the workers all did, we all stood up and trooped out.
Time for my evening Snickers and Ginger Beer, and a relax in my big comfy chair, never seem to have time to sit in it.
Keep getting more out than you put into this life. We need to even up the balance. HeatherP

Ladies,
Decadence.
I used to hold you all in high regard but this obsession with chocolate has got me thinking. Why? I know all about the sugar rush etc. but this does not excuse you.
You all need to lie down in a dim lit room and quaff some beer. CHOCOLATE in the long run will be your undoing so take my advice for saving your soul and have beer instead. For those of you who confess to this craving and are willing to make amends then I can help you. Give up the brown evil and I will lead you into the light. Beer is your salvation so join me in a pint or three and throw off the yoke of the evil brown stuff!!!

Well that was a load of nonsense, eh? Did I sound like Billy Graham? Shucks. I have failed but I feel no remorse. I did my best. I have the feeling that I have not convinced you but on the other hand..............

Repent and avoid Belgium for your own good. I am the Miller with a "light" touch. If you do not understand the last sentence ask your husband who I'm sure can explaine.
I wish you all a good night and a better day

Ladies,

It just happens that I am sitting here drinking a beer as I read this. It is 110 degrees in Sacramento right now and an ice cold beer hits the spot perfectly.

It is 110 again today and smokey. Half of California is on fire. I will need a couple of beers to wash down the smoke.

Cheers!

But seriously I hope you are not near the area in trouble. No mention of the fire on UK news.
Be well and be safe

Thanks Drew, Last I heard here were over 1,400 fires burning in California. I'm not in the area of any of the fires, I live in the valley and we are getting hit with the smoke, which is a lot better than loosing your house in a fire. It looks foggy outside, but it is all smoke. The air is so unhealthy that everyone is trying to stay in doors as much as possible. The heat isn't helping. It is really sad for a lot of people who have lost their homes.

'No smoke without fire' sounds a non-funny remark when I read of your problems. do hope all you get is smoke, I will not moan about our weather in future, after reading of all the disasters around the world we are lucky, floods, which are of course devastating for those who suffer them, many still waiting to return to their homes after a year, but nothing compared to what does happen in the rest of the world.
Keep your chin up. Good luck. Heather(Prill)
