I have worked most of my life. I joined the RAF at 15 1/2 and having made changes in my career a few times retired due to ill health when I was 60 1/2. I paid my national insurance and tax (40 % for ten years) and yet, apart from my GP and Consultant, am treated like a second class citizen by the NHS and DWP because I have a Chronic Disease. We, my wife Elaine and I, have decided to emigrate to Malta where, after much research, we believe we will be treated as human beings rather than just a number. The NHS is failing us big time. I dread going into hospital as The George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton (my local hospital) has the highest rate of MRSA in the Country. In Malta MRSA is not a probem in any of their hospitals and they have the expertise to help. Not just that - they treat you as a person not just a number. I am sorry if I sound bitter but enough is enough. I hope that a cure, or cures, for this dibilitating desease will be found soon but in the meantime Elaine and I are heading for the warmer climes of the Med for a better life.
I hope everyone who reads this is having the best day that they can have,
God Bless
Drew

Hi Drew,
I'm sorry you have had so much upsetment. But I am happy for you and your wife Elaine that you will be moving to a warm climate and to a place that treats you like an individual, not just a number.
I wish you and Elaine the best in your new life. May God bless you both each and every day.
Please consider staying on the Forum once you are settled.
Bon voyage whenever you leave!
Margie :)

Thank you all for your good wishes. Unfortunately we, Elaine and I, have a lot of loose ends to sort out before we can go to Malta so you will be stuck with me for some time yet! We WILL go to Malta it just takes time to sort everything out.
Sorry for moaning about UK. Just had my moaning head on for a while. When we do get to Malta I will continue to use the forum and spread the word to all in Malta (they have a PD Association). We have friends who live in Malta and speak at least twice a week via web cam. Malta has broadband but of course it is cheaper than UK. No surprises there then. Oops there I go again.
Next time I contribute to the forum I'll be back to smiley miley.
Have as good a day as you can
God Bless
