Hi,
I am new (recently dignosed - Feb 2008) but please dont hold that against me.
I would like to tell you about my recent trip to Paris & London.
I found travelling a bigger probelm than I thought it would be.
Flying from Australia is a very long journey, that is, 7 hours from Brisbane to Singapore then 13 hours from Singapore to Paris. Ending up very confused about my medications and feeling stiff and very sore.
I travelled over for my brothers wedding (10 May) which was great and also great to be a TOURIST (I thought).
I visited Monet's Garden @ Giverny by bus (half day trip). I found getting on & off the bus a problem. Stepping up onto the first landing is harder than it looks. (How embaressment :D )
I also visited the Louvre to see the "Mona Lisa", I think I did more moaning than she did. Walking that much really took all my energy.
Then, for something to do (ha), I took the EuroStar train to London for a 3 day weekend to go shopping @ Harrods and see the sights of London on a 'Hop on Hop Off Bus". What a mistake - More walking/ more tied.
Mind you I had a fanastic time but have paid dearly for it - I caught a cold on my way back and spent a week in bed recovering (medications out of wack/ jet lag/ bad cold/ cough).
I think long trip are out for me in the future
How has anyone else found travelling?
Regards
Weary Traveller

Weary TravellerHi Clair, Welcome to the club. I am going to Croatia in September and am concerned about the long flight. The last long distance trip I took was three years ago right before I was dianosed. I went to China and it took a month for my knees to stop hurting from sitting so long. Gail

SUE Sounds like you had quite the trip. Hope your next trip is better. N.Z. sounds like a nice place to visit.

I plan on having a great time. I love to travel and I can still go pretty hard. It won't be a long trip, it is just a nine day tour. My friends grandparents were from Croatia and she wants to go visit their homeland. I am sure you will have a great trip too.
