View Full Version : Why do people not respond?

I have written to many people in this forum. I have been very sympathetic and have tried to offer hope, understanding, encouragement, etc. But never know if I have helped or not. I do not need Aig thank you, or even a writing correspondance with them ,I would just like to know if I am getting my messages to them or if I am not doing something right. I know everybody does not have to like everybody, but common courtesy does prevail. at least in my world) Thank you, bruce

Hi Bruce
You play a very big part on the forum, and most of all in my life, as a new friend.
i have learnt so much from you, not only as someone with PD but as a friend.I have always found your openness, and honesty in your post's has given me strength, and quiet often food for thought, like the one you did today, that life is to short, to be concerned about stages
I have hopefully replied to your post's as said not only as a carer but as a friend
Please except my apologies,if i have done anything wrong, as no way would I upset you, or anyone intentionally on the forum

It is 2 a.m. and I cannot sleep. I have repeatedly kicked myself for sending message about people not responding. I have no business questioning anyone. I do not always respond because of how I feel. I am just frustrated about home situation and I took it out on you guys. That was very rude and thoughtless of me. On the other hand, I feel comfortable enough with you all to treat you like family. I hope that makes sense. I really mean it as a compliment to all of you!

BRUCE
I brought your quote over from your thoughtful
]"forgive my foolish notions [/B]"
So that the members reading your "why do peole not respond"
understand your thoughtful nature.
You are a rare & generous person to have the consideration for others feelings.
I respect you for your honesty

Bruce I hope you dont mind me marrying up your post. I'm concerned that members don't get to read your reply to your initial post of "why do people not respond"
I think its inportant that it shows what a special thoughtful person you are and you have my respect.

Hello Bruce" Doris here. I am sorry that i do not resond to any ones post, but I do enjoy reading all of the posts. As I do not have much to say is the only thing that keeps me from responding. And the fact that I cannot sit for very long at a time. I believe that I am a senior member here as I am 77years old. Well I have to move. Talk to you soon. Doris:):)

Hi Bruce,
Margie here. I am so sorry you feel so bad. I wish there was something I could say to let you know that you are definitely not forgotten. Your advice and comments and expertise in matters are all greately appreciated.
Sometimes I answer posts a few days late. That could be one reasons you might not see them. Other days, I cannot possibly read and/or answer everything on the Forum as I don't have the time available to me...but it is never out of deliberate neglect.
Yes, I can understand the stress in your home situation with three extra people living there. Stress is NOT good for anyone, especially Parkinson's Patience. Tony's doctor told us that very emphaticially.
I hope that this note finds you feeling better. You are such a good person. Please remember, we are all in this togther. You are NEVER alone.
Hope you have a very good day tomorrow.
Margie :)

Hi Doris
it's not about answering post's, it's about getting help support
and making new friends, who understand what is going on in our lives , as long as you, are getting this that's all that counts, and if you ever need anything knowing you can ask
take care

To be honest, I get too confused with how this thing works and am still a little intimidated by it. I will make an effort to participate a little more. I have learned a lot from everyone. Gail

Hello Bruce.
Just logged on, I found it very upsetting reading one or two threads, and seeing that you were obviously sad at what you felt was lack of response, from what I have read over the past few days after first logging-on, everyone seems very caring, and from what I have read here I think your friends also feel a little sad.
I am new to this and still do not really know where to go to find any response to my threads. i have found one or two, from the regulars, and they were most rewarding. My 'problems' are not really important, it is just nice to speak to people who will understand some of the frustrations of having Parkies, I used to be a very positive, fast moving, person, now, well you will know.
I have been helped by those speaking about medication and times of taking same, I have changed my regime slightly, my Doctor says I can experiment with timing, taking my prescribed medicines when it is right for me, which is good. I do feel better for this, not so nauseous.
i hope after reading some of the lovely replies you will have a good day, feeling happier knowing you have friends out here who do care for you. I will watch this space with interest. Do you mind if I join in now and again? Heather(the prill)

Always a pleasure to hear from you Heather, all help/tips gratefully received. If I knew how or where to click on I would do so, I keep nibbling around the edges but feel I am learning a great deal. Just been looking at/listening to, Lianne's latest offering, isn't it lovely.
just hope you are feeling a little better Bruce, although I do think, and shout me down if you wish as i know absolutely nothing about your life and any pressure you may be under, and I know ideally everything would be great always, however we know that can't be. So, maybe we all have to feel a little sad sometimes so that we can enjoy feeling happy even more. a good cry does me a power of good. Feel as if I am preaching at you which is not my intention, I will learn.
Good luck. Heather(the prill)

Hi Bruce, I am sure I will get the hang of it, but in the meantime, please be patient. After promising to start participating more, I am leaving town for a little over a week. I am going to Colorado with my daughter. She will be working and I will be playing with my granddaughter. I get the better end of that deal. I don't know if I will have access to a computer while I am gone. If I do, I will check in. I just didn't want you to think I had disappeared. Gail
