Hi, my name is Deb. I am also new to this forum, and would like to thank Lianna for all the hard work, time and effort she has put onto this, for the Parkies and their Caregivers. I have received one of Lianna's e-books and it is great. Lots of good info. Lianna, your Mom must be so proud of you!
I was diagnosed w/PD in 1997, just after my mother died of cancer. I had been seeing doctors for a few years before, for different aches and pains, not finding anything, until the tremor started that year. I started out taking Eldyprel and Admantadine for the first few years, and later tried a little of everything else. lol. I am now on Caridopa/levodopa 2 pills X4/day, lydosal for nausia, and just started Comtan this week 1 pill X4/day. In two weeks they will take me off these and put me on Stelevo. I am doing well, they say, for having PD for over 10 yrs. and find that staying active, having a since of humor, trying to keep a good attitude and having a loving family and decent doctor is eccential.
I have been retired from civil service, on diability for 5 years, and enjoy my computer and games, and watching TV, and try to walk as much as posssible.
Am looking forward to meeting everyone and chatting often.
Thanks agin Lianna! :D

My name is James and I live in sunny California. I've had PD since about 2001.
Currently on Stalevo 150 4x a day and Amantadine 3x a day.
I have to eat some Frito's corn chips before I take the pills so as to avoid nausea.
I am taking a whole slug of non-PD medicines and have to separate them by an hour to keep the nausea at bay, as they all seem to interact with each other.
This looks like a good forum, Thanks Lianna for setting it up.

I was diagnosed with PD last May. I am taking sinement 5xa day, which has helped with the tremors. I try to work out as much as I can. At times I do have trouble with stiffness in my left hand and numbness in my foot. The dr had me try azilect and neupro which made me very very sick. I having been working as an adminstrative coordinator for Hospice of Cincinnati which is a great support group for me. We have a holistic program for the patients as well as the employess which has also helped. The only problem the last few months I've been experiencing is alot anxiety and panic attacks especially if I found my stress level rises, (but then my daughter is getting married in sept out town and trying to plan a wedding) My PCP has me on anti-anxiety medication, seems to be helping. Has anyone else experienced anxiety?
