Hi. My name is Marlys. I was diagnosed with Parkinsons about 2 years ago. I am a white female, 67 years old. I live in Kalispell, Mt. with my "Significant Other". Right now my medication (Sinemet) taken 3 times daily, is allowing me to lead a reasonably normal lifestyle. I am finding out that there actually is a life after Parkinsons was diagnosed.
Thank God.
I am looking forwarding to meeting some of you.

Hi, My name is Patricia. I am 71 and was diagnosed in 2000 and I take quite a complicated regime of meds. I had polio at age 13 and my education more or less ended there. I moved to Vancouver from Bristol, UK in 1980. Nevertheless, I have lived a full life in both countries and have kept smiling throughout. I am now in an Intermediate Care Facility and enjoy cheering up my co-residents, of whom quite a few are Parkinsons people, albeit most quite a bit older than I. I look forward to meeting more PP through this Forum and exchanging information. Keep smiling each and every one of you out there. :D:D

Hi Marlys, I'm Drew (male 62). Welcome to the Forum. I'm sure you will find it most interesting. I Live in Leicestershire with my soulmate better known as Elaine my wife. Confirmed PD 8 years ago. Yes there is life after/with(?) Parkinson's. My meds - 9 Sinemet/day plus some other bits and pieces. Attitude is vital I have found. Being positive, don't think too far ahead as to what may (or may not) happen. Live and love each day. Smile, laugh, the best medicine - it's free!. Pardon my ignorance but is Mt. Montana? Not important just curious. Be well, kindest regards.

Welcome Marlys,

I'm so glad you came to the Forum. You will be more grateful each day as you visit.

My husband was diagnosed with PD three and a half years ago. I can only talk with you as a caregiver

Yes, there is definitely life after and with PD. There will be good days and not such good days but if both of you work together you will get through it all. A good sense of humor, laughter and a positive attitude is definitely a plus. My husband and I have worked out a good way of coping with PD. After being married for 46 years this month we still get along very well and love each other very much. We live in Queens, New York.

Enjoy this Forum. It has much to offer us. One of the best is the friendships you establish.

Wish you a good weekend :):):).

Margie
