My name is Linda. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in Sept. 2006. I had total knee replacement surgery in May 2006. Thinking back, I think I had subtle signs of Parkinsons already in May. I had a general anaesthetic with my surgery and they think it brought on the Parkinsons sooner, as after surgery I had tremors in my left foot and hand. I find after about 30 minutes, in the morning, when my Sinimet kicks in and my Naproxen for my arthritis kicks in, I'm good for the day. I've progressed from needing a walker to walk any distance to doing my family's shopping in whatever store I want to go to. I thank Lianne for this forum. I think it will be good for us to encourage one another,as we know the issues we cope with. My mom has had Parkinsons since 2003, she's 86 and my aunt had, mom's sister had it as well. They grew up and lived in England, my mom until 1945. My aunt has since passed away2 years ago from other health problems. God bless.
