hello everyone

My name is Kathy, I am 58 and was diagnosed with PD in 2006. As I'm sure youu all know it has been an eye opening, educational and soul searching time in my life. I have never participated in this type of venue before and am looking forward to hearing from and reading others experiences. My family has been indescribably incredible but sometimes they just don't understand. I am fortunate in that my case is mild and I respond well to the medication. My problem arises in that I was also diagnosed in 2006 with Rheumatoid Arthritis no connection but it makes daily life a little more challenging. So I find myself unable to go to work but am looking for finding other things to do. Look forward to meeting you through this forum, hearing your stories and advice. Good health to all

Kathy

Hi Kathy
welcome to our humble aboard :)
hope it's a good day for you and your family
So glad you have good family support
It's not so much as a carere we don't understand you,it's the PD we are all trying to get our heads around, and i think that's because so little is known about PD.

There is a lot written about it, but it often repeats itself,i hope someone can contradict me on that, and give us something new to read

Take care, and visit soon

Hi Kathy My name is PaulineI am 58 and was diagnosed with PD this past January , Your right it is hard to get your head around this My family are great but it is hard to talk to them about it esspecially my hubby he is such a good man but he won't talk about it he's the type to hide his head in the sand and it will go away , that's why this form is so good you get to hear from other people that are going through the same thing either personaly or as a care giver and a lot of the care givers can help because they can see what works and what dosn't well any way welcome there are a lot of great people here write back and tell abit about your self and where you are from smile and the word will smile with us :):):) Pauline

hi cathy,
i am 45 diagnosed 2006, it was a big shock, because they had told me six months prior it was definately not pd, so i got a second opinion and then i was told i had pd.
got to keep going though, i think if you can have a laugh at least once a day it helps.
looking forward to hearing all about you.
all the best tinkerbell
